7/100 Happy Days.

I decided to be social today in class and made plans with the girl in my class. She was saying how hungry she was and how good In-N-Out is. I agreed and we made plans to go after class. I hadn’t eaten anything that morning so I was indeed starving at this point. My boyfriend and I take summer classes at the same school so he was waiting for me to get out. While he waited today, he sat out on the grass and read some of his textbook. I get out two hours after he does and he looked really red/pink when we went out to meet him after class. He was hungry as well so we all went to eat. He thought she was a little annoying but she is a few years younger than us so the maturity level due to the age difference might be what he was tuning in on.

Yay, I made my first summer class friend. I can be social. 🙂

Yesterday, I was happy for being able to go to the gym and working out. I am currently at the heaviest I’ve ever been in my life. I’ve always been skinny throughout my life and I am still considered thin by most but I’ve added a little weight around my stomach that I intend to lose. I just need to get toned and I’m confident I can do it. My goal is to do it before I leave I go to Taiwan. My eventual goal is to lose 10-15 pounds.

Yesterday, I got off work around midnight and headed to the gym with my boyfriend. We were two of six people there. When we left, we were two of three. LOL. It felt really good to work out and inspired me to try and do it more with the addition to my 30 Day Fitness Challenge, which I have postponed due to my schedule.

What made me happy the most yesterday was making plans to cross off an item on my bucket list. Im going to be able to cross off camping at a national forest. My sister was planning a trip with her husband’s family and invited my dad. Now that she invited my dad, it wasn’t exclusively her husband’s family so she invited us (me and my boyfriend) as well yesterday in a text! I was really excited because I knew that it was on my bucket list and things were coming along very nicely to cross off a lot of things on my list.

I was also talking to a co-worker about this upcoming year and how I would be accomplishing a lot of things on my list this year. She funnily told me that I better hurry up because the year is half over already. I didn’t think about it but she was right. In only six months, I’ll be able to cross off a few things on my bucket list. The first would be to go camping in a national forest. Next, I would be going to Asia. Then, closer to the end of the year, I plan on going skydiving. This summer I was also planning on learning to swim. The thought of all of that brightened up my day.

Yesterday, I got to go to the San Diego County Fair. I wasn’t there for too long but it was nice to actually make my way down there. I went with my sister, her husband, their baby and my boyfriend. As soon as we got there, we got some Tasty Chips. Those are basically potato slices fried with nacho cheese and your choice of jalapeno or bacon. We got jalapeno and scarfed those down. People mainly go for the food and the rides and that day I was all about the food. My boyfriend and I left shortly after that but it was good to be able to see my sister and her family. 🙂 That brightened up my day.

UPDATE: We left to pick up his dad after getting into a car accident. He was sandwiched inbetween two cars and the car was totaled so we took him home. We were going to take him to the ER to get checked out but he decided by the end of the ride that he didn’t want to go. For the fair, I won tickets from a raffle and we were there for ten minutes before we got the call. So pretty much wasted these tickets. But, it was more important to help his dad in need.

Palms were sweating. Is there a draft in here? NO? Oh right, there are no windows.

You can say I was nervous to get my Spanish test back. I felt like I did really well when I took it but then when I was recounting the things I put on the test, I felt less confident. There was two that I absolutely felt I got wrong. I hoped that would still leave me with an A. My strategy with school is always to try hard but, mainly, to try hard in the first few tests so that I can relax for the later ones. Most teachers drop one test and your grade is the average of all the rest. I try to do well on all the first tests and not have to drop any of those so that when it comes to the final, either the teacher will let me not take it because all the other grades were good enough to pass with a good grade or I don’t have to try as hard to study for the final because my grade won’t fall too hard with my previous scores.

I got my test back and it had a 100 1/2% on it. There was one question for extra credit and I attempted and got it correct. I also got two problems wrong. One I didn’t receive any points for and the other I was only marked off a half of a percent. I was ultimately nervous for nothing but I felt proud of myself. I had an immediate rush of happiness flow through my veins. This is the first test of the semester so, obviously, it’s the easiest but I still felt incredibly proud that I was able to retain and understand the material.

1/100 Happy Days.

100 Happy Days is an online social media challenge to find 100 things in 100 days that makes you happy. It’s a call to find happiness when you might be stuck in a rigid routine and forget to look around at the world around you. It reminds you to look at the small things in life that you take for granted and give yourself moments of happiness. So I’ve decided to accept this challenge! Now I have this and my fitness challenge going. 🙂 This challenge focuses mainly on pictures but I will focus mainly on the story of what made me happy that day.

Yesterday, my boyfriend and our friend went to go eat. Taco Tuesday is a big thing here in San Diego and a lot of restaurants have tacos and most are on special. We went to a particular restaurant in a part of the city called Old Town. This place has really good taco specials and drink specials but I just recently quit drinking for the time being. When we got there, there was a radio station set up inside. We thought it was a new radio station trying to promote themselves because there usually isn’t one there on Tuesdays. They had a table set up and while we were in line to be seated, we took turns putting our name into the raffle that they were doing to give away prizes. We waited in line for our turn to be called for seating and talked amongst ourselves.

Soon, we were next to be seated and the host started to walk us over to the table. Then I thought I heard my name. Just faintly though so I turned around to look for someone I recognize. Nope. They must be talking to another person with my name. Then I heard it again but this time with my last name! I was being called to win a prize! I quickly turned and ran towards the radio station’s table set up. The guy said it was funny that I was running up to the table like a contestant on the Price Is Right. We shared a laugh and he have me two Charger glasses. (The Chargers are San Diego’s football team.) I, personally, don’t like sports but it made me happy knowing that I won something! Funnily enough, a couple names later, my boyfriend was called to win the glasses as well. Now we have a set for when we move out.
